In some cases, restoring a tooth with a simple filling becomes unpredictable, either due to extensive damage or other factors. In this case there is the alternative of using an inlay or overlay seal. This filling is made by the dental laboratory, after the tooth has been prepared (ground) by the dentist.
There are three main types of insert/insert fillings: metal (which can be either precious metal or basic metal alloy), resin and ceramic. The last two are the colour of the tooth.
The choice of the type of insert/insert depends on many factors (aesthetic, functional) and should be evaluated individually in each case.
