Athanasios was born in Thessaloniki in 1978.
In 1996 he graduated from Anatolia College ( American High School of Thessaloniki) and in 2003 he graduated from the Dental School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.
In November 2003 he joined the Greek Army where he worked as a dentist in 424 General Military Hospital in Thessaloniki and in a military unit in Plati Evrou.
In 2005 he decided to move to Brighton, UK. He then joined Crawley Dental Clinic, a 4 surgery practice in Crawley, West Sussex, where he started working as an associate dental surgeon. He was seeing both NHS and private patients.
While still working at that practice in 2007 he attended the one year postgraduate course in Restorative dentistry: ‘Certificate in Restorative Dental Practice’ in the well renowned Eastman Dental Institute, UCL.
In 2008 he started his MSc in Implant Dentistry in the University of Warwick and he successfully completed it three years later. His final thesis was titled: “Platform switch concept and crestal hard and soft tissue changes. A literature review“.
Furthermore, in 2009 he travelled to Sao Paulo, Brazil where he attended an intensive practical course in Implant Surgery that was coordinated by Prof. Alexander Salvoni.
Also, he is a certified provider of the revolutionary Inman Aligner orthodontic system for relatively quick orthodontic movement of anterior teeth without using braces.
Till now he has participated in many dental seminars and courses covering many aspects of dentistry, focusing in dental aesthetics and implants. Michael Pikos, Charles Khoury, Howard Gluckman, Paulo Malo (All on 4 implant concept), Pascal Magne are some of the world renowned dental surgeons that he has been trained from.
He is still working part time in Crawley Dental Clinic. One of his main duties is to deal with complex restorative cases that are being referred to him by the NHS Complex Restorative Dentistry Scheme or surgical procedures by the Minor Oral Surgery scheme.
Since 2011 he has been working in his private clinic in Thessaloniki.
