Microbial plaque can be removed by using a toothbrush and toothpaste, as long as the correct brushing method is used.<\/p>\n<p>However, if the microbial plaque is not completely removed, then the saliva is superimposed on it to form the tartar or stone. The tartar cannot be removed with a toothbrush, which is why a visit to the dentist is necessary to have it removed or cleaned.
